A Thursday Roundup

General Add comments

A new theme! I know, it’s the third time in a month, but this time I’m sticking bar a few tweaks. I think it’s more suited to what I want to do and looks pretty nice in my opinion.

Anyway this is just a post to touch base and let you know I’m still quite active but perhaps a little more behind the scenes at the moment. I do have one question for you guys though; why is it that my post on Scheduling my Blogging Day is so popular? I didn’t promote it at all so it’s definitely something to think about.

In other news Jane May has changed her website URL to www.dailywebideas.com so your RSS feeds may be playing up a bit (mine was). She’ll also be guest posting at John Chow occasionally so keep an eye out for that. I’d also like to mention the idea for the top of this theme (showing RSS / Technorati and links) was inspired by her, and I hope she doesn’t think I ripped her off!

Darren Rowse has posted on why StumbleUpon is better than Digg for traffic, something I agreed with in my post Why Submitting to Digg is a Waste of Time. I’d like to point out I’m not 100% against Digg, I just had some gripes I wanted to get off my chest!

Finally I’d like to say you should subscribe to my RSS Feed. If I could bribe you with cookies and such I would. I promise.

PS. on behalf of the British I’d like to grudgingly say I hope all Americans had a great Independence Day : )

Jane is using this same theme, it looks good. I especially like the top 3 items you can display above all posts. Great for marketing an e-book or top 5 posts or something.

I may have to implement something similar on my blog.

I took Jane’s Idea for the top as it was golden but the I created the theme myself..well I say that, I cobbled together a few.

The top section is brilliant, and I wish I’d implemented it sooner!
